As one of the most recognizable faces at the Grand Club Lounge during the past 25 years, Scott has developed friendships with many of our repeat visitors.

Therefore, it was not a surprise when the father of a frequently visiting family was suffering from serious pain in his swollen leg due to diabetes and Scott played a critical role in easing the family members’ difficulties during their two-week stay.

Scott noticed Mr Sylvio’s condition deteriorating and the family’s frustration growing during less and less frequent visits to the Lounge.  After learning of the father’s pain and immobility during medication, Scott visited him in his room, escorted him to the Lounge to sit at his preferred table and readied breakfasts for him and his wife, as he did not want to stay in the room all the time.  During slow periods, Scott would chat with him, distracting him from his pain and boredom.

Mr Sylvio’s daughter, who flew in especially to check on her father, felt relieved after finding out the medication had worked and that her parents had Scott giving his attention and taking the time to check in on her father’s condition.

After a few days of resting, Mr Sylvio’s condition improved and his pain subsided.  But the family members never forgot how they felt when Scott made a difference during those first few difficult days when they were all in a bad mood.
